Julia Fiona Roberts, born October 28th, 1967 at Atlanta in the United States to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is fourth in the Roberts generation to live in Atlanta from her great-grandfather, a farmer John Pendleton Roberts. Her father had the first interest to stage. In 1952, while studying at Emory University, he performed at several shows in Atlanta. In 1953, he joined the Air Force and while stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi acted in a production with Betty Lou Bredemus. The two married in 1955 and their first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter and his wife left the Air Force in the year 1957 at which time they were enrolled Walter to Tulane University. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the couple relocated into Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning show on local TV for children called Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. The show was a success and they were paid. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou founded The Actors and Writers Workshop. The program ran for 6 years. In 1965, they welcomed two young children, Lelisa Billingsley along with Julia Billingsley.
