April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born on July 4th in 1995. In the seventh grade she began to take piano and guitar lessons. It was this that ignited her love for songwriting. April Lockhart wrote her first single, Different at the age twelve years old. At 14 April, she spent a lot of time writing and honed her musicianship abilities. After that, she started taking trips to write with father in NY in New York and LA. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in the book, Take My Hand, for those of her peers who struggled with peer pressure, disabilities or even suicide. Lockhart is also gaining a growing fan base as a lifestyle blogger and is employed by the renowned brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. Born without a left hand, Lockhart is an important part of her. However, it's not her entire story. The account on Instagram of Lockhart doesn't deny the fact that she has a disability. But it also doesn't make it a point to emphasize the issue. The profile is a statement. The message? That we have many different aspects, that our identity and physical selves are not all that they appear. Lockhart talks via video in Nashville. "I do not intend to let it define my existence. I don't want to be only identified as a specialist in disability. This doesn't have any effect on my daily life. I conduct everything normally and I've found the best way for me to adapt things. It's also part of me and I feel that it's crucial to speak about. Lockhart encourages us to keep going with self-acceptance. Even so, Lockhart admits that she has had periods of feeling uneasy about her appearance, and the clothes which displayed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. and she shares her pictures to social media. Self-love for her was a long journey. The same is true for everybody regardless of their degree of self-confidence. I think it is important to be around individuals who truly understand the person you are.
